Lets Get Started - This method will work for any iPhone that is currently available, just follow the instructions exactly. If you are using this method on a phone that you have been using for a while remember to backup data because you will have to restore.
I did this guide using a PC but exact same method can be used with Mac by using ZiPhone for Mac.

1. Insert your SIM Card.

2. Start-up iTunes. It will tell you that you have an incorrect sim. Now put your iPhone into DFU mode.
To do this, hold down the sleep/wake button and home button, when the screen goes blank let go of the sleep/wake button and hold the Home button until itunes recognises your iPhone is in DFU
[attachment=31][attachment=32]

3. Restore your phone. Simply click restore and then restore and update in the message that will appear. This will fully wipe your phone so it is ready to use with ZiPhone.
[attachment=33][attachment=34][attachment=35][attachment=41]

4. iTunes will then recognise your phone again and say you have an incorrect sim. It is very important that itunes and you iPhone pair otherwise ZiPhone wont work

5. Close iTunes and make sure iTunes helper is terminated
For Window users: Start task manager, find iTunes Helper.exe, click end process and then end process again
For Mac users: go into applications/utilities, run activity monitor, find iTunes Helper and click kill process then force quit (Also make sure itunes is fully exited and not just in standby on dock)

5. Download ZiPhone 2.5c (Mac or Windows) and run it.

6. Click "Do it all." This applies for both Windows and Mac users.
ZiPhone will work its magic. Expect white code to zoom by on you iPhone screen. Process will take about 4 minutes. When its done it will let you know and "Slide to unlock" will appear on your iPhone. You can now uplug your phone
[attachment=42][attachment=43]

You have now successfully jailbroken, activated and unlocked your iPhone. if you go into settings, general, about and scroll down you will notice that you are on the latest baseband available.

Now for the fun (but tiring) Australianising process (trust me...not as hard as it use to be lol)

Australianising your iPhone will fix all contact links so numbers arnt all messed fix some other technical issues.

Lets Go!

1. First of all go into settings, general, auto-lock and set to never
[attachment=45]

2. Go back to settings, general and touch international. make sure your region format is set to English - Australia. if its not, change it.
[attachment=46][attachment=48][attachment=47]

3. Now to set-up wifi. Go to settings again, touch Wifi and choose you network. if you have WEP security or any other kind enter that key when it asks.
[attachment=49]

4. Now that you have set-up wifi go back to the homescreen by clicking the home button. Now touch installer. It will refresh sources and pop up with a message asking if you want to update Installer. Do it.
[attachment=51]

FROM HERE THERE IS A LOT OF TIME INSTALLING THINGS SO JUST BE PATIENT

5. You will now be at main Installer screen. touch install down the bottom and scroll down to sources. Touch community sources, touch install up the top then install again. it will install, pop up with a message (touch OK) then refresh sources. once it has done that it will take you back to apps list.
[attachment=50][attachment=52][attachment=53][attachment=54][attachment=55][attachment=56]

6. Once again scroll down to sources and touch big boss experimental. hit install and then install again. again it will install and refresh sources then throw you back to apps list.
[attachment=57]

7. Okay thats the boring part over. scroll down to system and touch BSD subsystem. touch install and then install again. this package is bigger (around 5 mb) so it takes longer to install. once again you will be take back to apps list
[attachment=52][attachment=58]

8. Go into System again and install OpenSSH. message will pop up, just touch okay.

the BSD subsystem package you just installed allows you to now install any app or patch from installer.

Now to patch Appsupport and Region.

9. Scroll down until you find Tweaks (1.1.4)
[attachment=59]

10. In there you will find Appsupport patch. install it. when it give you message at end touch okay but dont reboot phone. now install Region patch by accessing Tweaks (1.1.4) again.
[attachment=60][attachment=61]

11. When thats done click the Home button. You homescreen will restart and you will be at the slide to unlock screen.
[attachment=43]

12. Reboot you iPhone by holding down the sleep/wake button until you see the "slide to power off" slider. slide to power off. when you phone is off press the sleep/wake button again and your phone will turn on.

13. Slide to unlock and you now have a completely jailbroken, activate and unlocked phone ready for use anywhere in Australia

if you have any problems or dont understand something just post a reply in the discussion thread and i will try to clarify as much as i can.

Enjoy you new 1.1.4 iPhone!

(oh and to get rid of the ZiPhone blog icon simple hold you finger down on it until icons start to wiggle, touch the little cross on it, touch delete then press the home button and it will be gone)
great tut, but just a quicky is there a way to format numbers like this 0400 000 000(for mobiles) and 02 9000 0000/ 9000 0000(for land lines)??
Thanks NG, thats a great guide.

What about the bootloader though, does it downgrade if you use ZiPhone on a 1.1.4 iPhone?
yes. if you have an iPhone with a 4.6 bootloader it will downgrade it to 3.9 which will allow future updates to be more easily hacked.
awesome, thanks so much for your work!!
great guide, i was formatting my phone and it was great, my only comment is i had trouble getting into DFU, i read though that you hold both for 10 sec then home for 10, it might just be worth adding it in Smile great work Norm_
