you can either get an app like boss services, normal services or itoggle which turns it off or...
you can delete setting each time you do it. seeing that to setup edge in australia only takes 1 or 2 words its sometimes faster to just do this. it also takes away the need of having an app installed and filling up homescreen.

how do i delete the setting (im using OS X 10.5.2) also another noob question can i update to 1.1.4 before using ziphone 2.5 to unlock/jailbreak/activate my soon to be iphone out of the box??

you can just delete the settings on the phone by going to settings, general, network, edge...
then u just delete whatever is in the APN, user or password.
if you are just getting the iphone then you wont have to worry about edge because it does not automatically setup. method above is incase you wanna use edge eg. while your out but then disable it eg. while your at home.
its also a very good idea to update to 1.1.4 as soon as you get the phone and then unlock/jailbreak/activate. saves you time unlocking 1.1.3 then updating to 1.1.4 and having to unlock again. ziphone 2.5c unlocks all phones that are now out.
