hey im just wondering how much space i can use for my third party apps etc, i keep getting "please free up space" (not exact wording)
cheers
p.s i have 3.8 gb free on my iphone
you can use as much space as you have left for 3rd party apps.
the reason this message appears is because apps are kept one of the two disk parititions the iPhone has which it shares with OS. the more apps you download, the more it fills up.
best way to fix this up is to get BossTool v0.35 from installer and touch relocate fonts, relocate rintones and relocate applications (in that order)
it will move everything over to other partition. it should then install apps to the new directory from then on and get rid of that "free space" message.
hope that helps

im having issues installing apps with my iphone
"yesterday o the day before i updated installer to 3.01 (not sure if this has anything to do with it), now i cannot install any apps. i have been getting "package download failed!"
i have tried connecting via 2 diff wifi connections and i keep getting the same thing, i tried installing summer board 3.2 and it won't install, yet i could install multitouch. i triedd tapp and i got the error message.
don't know if its of any relevancy but i keep getting the message to clear some space, which i find strange because i have 3.8 GB of space left, and really i don't have many apps installed!
i recently coppied some NES roms onto the iphone, under var/mobile/media/ROMs/NES. i removed 1/2 the roms i installed and still no fix.
just wondering if its to do with the sources (which i keep refreshing)..."
nope it shouldnt have anything to do with the space. same thing happened to me when i updated. have you tried rebooting your phone? thats what i did and it fixed it all up.
try that. might fix it up. if it doesnt the....there are other options lol
ive turned my phone on and off, (now that ive cleared space) and still the same thing, its ok for now my phone works, which is good, and iam still at 1.1.3, so i haven't made any changes to the system at all
what other options do i have?
