Full Version: Unlocked iPhone to be released in Australia?

Just like in Germany and France, Australia has a clause in the law saying that phone companies can not lock phones to a carrier, as it holds back competitive play, that the law apparently requires. (i could just be reading that in the way i wish to interrupt it here is the article.... scroll down a bit its near the bottom)

this will more than likely happen, but if prices area anything like those in germany fracne, your looking at 1500+ for an iphone Sad
would be good...if they were actually going to sell them at a resonable price. was talking to dads friend at apple today...he said that it might even get up to $2000 here and not much better if you end up going on a plane.

ridiculous....lucky i have one already lol.
