My biggest gripe (as you can tell, I don't have many if this was my biggest) was that the iPhone was formatting my numbers wrong. I wanted it to show formatting like (02) 9XXX XXXX, 04XX XXX XXX, 1300 XXX XXX , etc

I found this is easily possible by editing /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ABPhoneFormats.plist

You will need access to your iPhones file syste and a hex editor..or you can just download iFuntastic ( http://bitsplit-enterprises.com/iFuntastic/index.html )which allows for this to be done easily (and a wealth of other options).

Now they all display exactly as I like them to!
Thanks man, was looking into how to do this.
By the way, in firmware v1.1.1 the address book formats file is now located in /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIPhoneFormats.plist
: / How do I get to system? ie system/library etc? I cannot locate it anywhere! p.s I have an unlocked 1.1.1 with installer 3.0 and BSD subsstem 2.0
you have to SSH the iphone using either winscp on windows or fugu on mac. once ur in you just browse like normal.

Thanks normal! I tried independance. It said it was successful but there was no icon on my springboard. It then miraculously worked downloading through Installer - still no icon though other applications are downloading now! Smile

Now to try the no. formatting!
