Guys,

I just read they have unlocked the 1.1.1 firmware... I've got 1.0.2 right now...

Is it worth upgrading the firmware and what are the hazards? anything we should know? What's the best way to do it?
I just joined the forum, so this reply is rather late. You must have decided a long time ago whether to upgrade. Well, 1.1.2 has since been released. I highly recommend upgrading all the way to 1.1.2. But not 1.1.3, which is expected to be released this weekend.

Ditto on Truenorths comment. My iPhone is also running 1.1.2 quite happily. 1.1.3 is due for a very immenent release, but these always take a month or so to get patched. So wait till you here solid news of a proven patch before moving there.

I am on 1.1.1, I am not brave enough to upgrade yet, but probably will soon!
I'd stick with 1.1.1 - 1.1.2 doesn't offer much, as it came out really to prevent further hacking.

Totally agree. No real enhancements. 1.1.3 will be the first with major additions (but as said in other posts, dont go there on release, wait for a hack first )

Ok peeps,

Its time you all upgraded to 1.1.3 the time is now! wether you have and iPhone with the 3.9 bootloader or the 4.6 its really simple.

1. Use iTunes to restore to 1.1.3 regardless of all previous unlock attempts or even if your iPhone is bricked! 1.1.3 will fix them all!

2. Head over to http://www.ziphone.org and download ZiPhone 2.3, and connect your iPhone, make sure iTunes is quit.

3. Select all three boxes activate, jailbreak and Unlock and select start, wait 2 and a half minutes and hey presto, you have an activated, jailbroken and unlocked iPhone!

Its too easy.
