just got my brand new spiffy 8gb iphone!
so happy.
but it says 7.1gb
but only 3.4 free???
ive put nothing on it came software unlocked and all that v 1.1.3
any help appreciated!
the iPhones capacity should read 7.3GB
that 7.3 is for all your music, videos etc.
dont know whats happening with yours but my best guess is that the person who did the software unlock used a really old method that takes up heaps of available space (use to be only method available) and increase amount of space used for OS (which is why yours reads 7.1 not 7.3)
best thing to do is just follow the guide i posted and it should all be fixed up....and the added bonus that its on 1.1.4

when you put your phone in DFU mode and click restore it will do both the restoring and updating for you.
